Pamplona Alimentos S/A, is a private business corporation, it was founded on May 3rd in 1948, by Mr. Lauro Pamplona and his wife Mrs. Ana Pamplona. The company had its origin in the city of Agronômica, State of Santa Catarina, and in 1963 under the name of Açougue Riosulense Ltda., was devoted exclusively to slaughter beef and selling its meat.

The effort to grow and the need to always provide products with good quality and a difference service, made this enterprising couple believe that they could also sell the pork meat. Then it came, a new product, that allowed provide another alternative for customers. Diversifying the mix, new product lines were created, such as: smoked, salted, cured meats, sausages and others.

With the ideal to grow and innovate, in 1969 the company transferred their activities to the city of Rio do Sul/SC, with modern and new facilities for the time, starting to use a new name: Frigorífico Riosulense Ltda. At the end of 1973 the company was transformed into a joint-stock company. In 1974, aiming to adapt to new requirements and updates of the agribusiness sector, it was necessary entering the SIF (Federal Inspection Service). The procedure resulted in opening new markets and developing new products.

With the growing of Domestic Market, the company felt the need to expand its industrial park. And then, in 1989 Company had another acquisition in the city of Presidente Getúlio/SC. This acquisition allowed production capacity and storage of the company to expand it significantly.

Seeking for a better participation in the market, in 1996 the company made its first exports. The company got the status of Certified Farm in 2002 with the certification of farms located in the cities of Laurentino and Ituporanga, both in Santa Catarina State. Those units meet the requirements of Normative SDA (Agriculture Defense Department) N. 19, producing animals genetically determined and with a high degree of health.

On December 2005, with outbreaks of FMD in Brazil, the state of Santa Catarina was penalized by the ban for selling pork to Russia, the main importer country of its products, compromising the performance of its exports.

In this context, the company directed the surplus of its sales to the domestic market and also to new foreign markets. Today the Company exports for more than 30 countries. It also has adopted as strategy, to offer to its costumers, products with higher value, processed and cooked products. Ready for consumption meals.

There is also a feed factory, located in the city of Laurentino/SC, responsible for the production of feed and concentrated feed that supply the needs of its breeding stock and the selling of Pamplona´s Feed.

The company currently has more than 3.700 employees, besides generating income to its employees, contributing to the strengthening of the regions where it operates, acting with social responsibility, integrating the environment, nature and community.

We are located in the state of Santa Catarina, a prime location, 300Km from the Capital and 150Km from the main port of our state: the Itajaí Port. Also we are situated on the highway margins of BR-470, main access of flow of the state´s agribusiness.
